The Cast
Mark Preston (Frank)
Mark takes on the title role of Frank, a character whose history stretching back to the film Alone is one of profound struggle. Mark has an incredible ability to convey the "harrowing journey" of a man caught between the weight of human isolation and something far more enigmatic. His portrayal anchors the film’s exploration of loneliness and the psychological toll of one's past.
Neil James (Dr. Kedron)
Neil James joins the production as the "strange" Dr. Kedron. Known for his versatility across the screen and for his roles in acclaimed shorts—Neil brings a necessary gravitas and mystery to the doctor. His interaction with Frank provides the pivotal tension that drives our narrative forward.
About the Film: Frank's Legacy
Produced by Paul Allen for Seventh Dream Ventures and directed by the visionary Trevor Hayward (The Break Up, Witch), Frank's Legacy is a short film that sits at the intersection of psychological drama and the supernatural.
The Plot: The story follows Frank's continued evolution. While the narrative is grounded in the raw, human experiences of mental illness, depression, and the ache of being alone, a "much darker element" eventually filters through.
The Visuals: We are working closely with Director of Photography Carl Bryan to capture the specific, atmospheric tension the script demands.
Production: Filming is scheduled to commence this March 2026.
It is a particularly poignant project for the team, as Trevor Hayward has noted this will be part of his "final 10 short films" before transitioning away from filmmaking. We are all dedicated to making sure this "Legacy" is one that resonates long after the credits roll.
